Using Dual-Language Books

Il y a deux semaines j'étais à Portland, Oregon et je suis allée à la libraire «Powell's». Il y avait beaucoup des livres en français dans cette libraire. J'ai acheté le livre «Les Grandes Nouvelles Françaises du Vingtième Siècle». C'est un livre avec textes parallèles (français et anglais).


J'ai déjà lu trois nouvelles: 

• Paysage de foule de Octvae Mirbeau
• Portrait d'Eliane à quatorze ans de Valery Larbaud
• Iceberg de Fred Kassak

Ce soir, je vais lire Pleure, pleure ! de Andrée Maillet, une poétesse et romancière québécoise. 

J'aime beaucoup ces nouvelles.

I am really enjoying the stories and it is very helpful to read the French and the English side-by-side. It is giving me lots of material to review and repeat, over and over, and I like that I don't have to go looking in a dictionary for individual words.

When I am finished reading this book, I will look for others, though hopefully I will soon be able to do without l'anglais. The best would be to have it on audio as well, seulement le français.
